Thank you for taking the time to visit my amateur photo web site .

In the past 'film' photographers used a number of approaches to 'enhance' their images in the darkroom. I will not relate all the ways they did this, but will simply say that such techniques are now used by photographers in a 'digital darkroom'. Almost all digital photographers have access to a computer based 'digital darkroom' - provided by computer software. Therefore it would appear that if you are a amateur photographer and you want to make the best of your images, then you must learn about computers.

Why?

Simple: as far as I can see you really do need to understand computers, in order to succeed in digital photography. Anyone can take a digital photo. But unless you are computer literate you may not be able to take advantage of that image.Over the coming months I will explain and show how software can significantly improve your images. I will use examples from Capture Nx and Photoshop CS3. I hope that the information on this site will help those who are searching for help in the digital imaging world.

In this section I will explain what the very, very, expensive programs do. And then offer free alternatives.
