How to install Adobe Camera RAW

The file is normally in zip format, to allow you to download it from the Internet. Use WinZip or WinRar to un compress the file. You end up with a file called 'Camera Raw.8bi', V3.6 is 5.33MB in size. This file has to overwrite the existing one.

In windows:

Go to the folder called 'Adobe', then
go to the folder called 'Adobe Photoshop CS2'.

[Note: your version may say 'Adobe Photoshop CS' or 'Adobe Photoshop 7', etc]

Then go to the folder called 'Plug ins', then
go to the folder called 'File Formats'.

Within this folder you will see files with the 8bi extension. Delete the existing 'Camera Raw.8bi' and then copy in the new one. The next time you open Photoshop it will be able to read the new raw files covered by the latest update.
